Karen Pyman has been the head teacher at Millbrook Primary School since 2011 and involved in the LACT since it was established in November 2013. She graduated from Westminster College, Oxford in 1990, with a B.Ed (Hons) degree and has been teaching ever since! Karen worked in schools in Oxfordshire, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire, before coming to Swindon, and has taught every age group from FS2 to Year 6. She completed her NPQH in 2006, just before she took up her first headship, and is currently completing a Masters Degree in Applied educational Leadership and Management at University College London.

Karen is passionate about children enjoying their education, contributing positively to society and becoming lifelong learners. Probably her proudest achievement has been to lead Millbrook to becoming a ‘Good’ school and giving the children in Freshbrook the quality of education they deserve.

Karen lives in Malmesbury, in a Grade 2 listed house that she will one day find the time to renovate, with her younger son and her cat! In her free time she enjoys attending live music concerts, listening to everything from Mozart and Prokofiev (her older son is a classical musician) to Harry Styles and George Ezra, going to the theatre, visiting art galleries, and travelling the world!!
