Sally Cowell is Head Teacher at Shaw Ridge Primary School. She joined the school as Deputy Head Teacher in 1995 and took over as Head Teacher in 2001. Prior to that she taught in a number of other Swindon Schools.

Sally qualified as a teacher at Westminster Collage in Oxford following a three year degree course in Mathematics, Geography and Psychology at Cardiff University. In 1995 she gained an MSc in Education.

During her time in charge at Shaw Ridge Primary she has steered the school through some significant challenges including taking over a school in special measures, managing a new school build and becoming an academy. At the heart of her philosophy for education is a drive to develop a love of learning so that each individual can make a real difference to themselves, other people and the world around them.

Sally is Mum to three teenage children and her husband is also in education.
